Sister Tamacori (Week 51)

Dramatic view of the causeway.

Hey Everyone,

First off let me say I am really bummed that Tropical Storm Erika broke up.  I know I am safer this way, but I was really hoping that I could say, "Remember Erika? I lived through that storm."  We did get a lot of rain Saturday and Sunday.  I am so happy we had the car when it was raining.

My new companion is Sister Tamacori!  She is so awesome.  She was called here to speak Spanish, but is temporarily assigned to an English area.  However, it looks like we might be teaching someone in Spanish, since the Coco Zone doesn't have any Spanish missionaries.  Another cool thing about her is that she is a convert of almost two years.  Her conversion story is super long and super cool.  She is also tall, from Colorado, and is a girl scout.

Sad news: we got a call from Sister Winn right after transfers.  I listened to the voicemail.  She is going on about all these crazy things happening with Sister Hull and Connor.  She said she was willing to help teach him the gospel, but didn't want to get dragged into this crazy situation.  I don't blame them.  I don't want to get involved.  We know a little of each person's story, but I am not sure what is true.  Long story short, Connor moved out and is no longer staying with Sister Hull.  We have tried calling him, but he hasn't answered or returned the call.  We are going to keep trying this week, but if we don't hear anything, then we will leave him alone.

Good news: Mary and Alicia are doing good.  We got to teach a lessons on families, which went well.  Because of all the rain they didn't come to church, since they felt it was safer to stay on their boat rather than trying to get to land with their canoe.

We have started to heart attack the members in the ward council and the ward missionaries.  Next week we plan on slowing visiting them all and bringing them cookies.  We hope this helps build further trust they have in us.  There already is a lot, but we just wanted to help the relationship more.

Miracle: Okay so a while ago Sister Skousen and I (and maybe Sister Woolley, I can't remember) talked to his man, whose name is Harry outside of the library.  His hat said, "Jesus is my boss."  You can tell he is homeless, but that doesn't matter, so we invited him to church.  On Monday after we were done emailing he went up and talked to us.  He asked where church was. He said he wanted to go, but he couldn't this Sunday, but could the next.  A few days past and Sister Tamacori and I rode to the church.  There I saw Harry riding his bike, so we stopped and talked.  He said there were change of planning and he could come this Sunday, but not the one following.  He actually came to church!  He liked it and said he would probably come again.  He said during Sunday School that he is grateful for me and my companion for inviting him.  I love Harry.  I hope we see him again.

One day I decided to brush my hair at night to see what it would look like.
Yep, that is why I don't brush my hair.
